Rough Opening For Bifold Doors
Is it too difficult to suddenly open the folding door? ۔
I just finished my racket, framed everything myself, and so on. I have the doors ready and things look good, maybe a little tight for the linen closet doors, but I squeezed them, there are many, they fit in a strong and sturdy frame. So I went ahead and did the drywall and electrical, painted all the walls, installed the doors and everything. Today I laid the mat. When they were done, the carpenters told me that they could not put my folding door back in the hole.
I've been playing with it for a while and I'm glad the mat is more than I expected (we know the Berber + Pad R will do much better). I can't put the folding linen closet door on the banister right now. I tried to tweak the settings and things like that, but that way I can only lift the door to a point because my rough opening is a little smaller than that. So now I have one and it's all over and I really hate tearing down this wall to cut the header ...
If I could just fit the 2x4 into a 1/4 inch indoor headboard and put an indoor grid on it, it would work fine. I have a router but all TS have shields so I can't use them for this purpose.
So my question: ~ Am the 2x4 space in the door frame? If so, what tools should I use to get better, even faster? Do I have no choice but to tear down the wall?
To updateBy the way, the bathroom is completely incomplete, so I have access to the door frame from this side.
The easiest solution is to cut 3/4 to 1 '' from the bottom of each door.
Most folding doors are designed to suit this environment. It may be necessary to re-drill the file below to rotate / adjust.
Keep your door flat, on a level surface, such as a table or saw, facing the inside of the door (cutting a circular saw will reduce damage to more visible surfaces). With a pencil and a straight ruler, draw a line and use masking tape to secure the bottom of your circular saw. Cut slowly, making sure the bottom is clean (you don't even want to cut the can table).
I've done it a dozen times. It's simple and easy to do.
This page can help you.

I've done this setup many times. Use the first answer hints. The only two things I will add are to take the flexible file and file the edges of the new cut lightly to avoid tearing. Also close the newly cut edges to prevent moisture from entering the door. This prevents warping.
All you need to do is cut the bottom of the door to reveal the carpet.
A very common problem.
Make sure the oil level is normal and it is best to keep the gas tank full.
